Overdose Awareness Day is August 31st

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.  At the American Indian Council, we are pausing to remember the many lives needlessly lost to overdose and to take action to prevent losing relatives in the future.

Time to remember. Time to act.

According to preliminary data from the CDC, overdose deaths rose in Wisconsin by more than 24%  and nationally by 30% in 2020. In the United States alone, more than 90,000 lives were lost to an overdose last year.

Do you know the signs of an overdose and how to respond? Take action today!
