There are two main types of diabetes: Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 diabetes is when your pancreas is unable to produce insulin whereas people with Type 2 diabetes don’t respond to insulin as well as they should — resulting in high blood sugar levels. Type 1 diabetes does not have a cure but it is treatable. Since the body isn’t able to make insulin, it must be regularly administered. Type 2 diabetes can be managed and even reversed with diet and exercise.
