Meditation has a history going back thousands of years. The term meditation refers to practices focusing the mind. By being silent in a peaceful space, you’re able to train your thoughts to slow down and focus. Meditation is used to calm the mind and improve one’s overall well-being.
Types of Meditation
There are many types of meditation; some include mental focus on a sensation, such as breathing, sound, or an image. Others incorporate the practice of mindfulness, or being aware of the present moment without making judgments. We will explore the different meditation practices later in this section.
