As we learned in the previous lesson, dementia is an umbrella term used to describe several conditions that affect the brain. There are many disorders that cause dementia, and each can have its own unique symptoms and signs.
Some disorders are known as progressive dementias. These are disorders that grow progressively worse over time and are not reversible.
